FRAUD RELATING TO BANK AND CREDIT CARDS

 


In recent times, the Electronic Crime Sub-Directorate has received several complaints from citizens about online fraud related to Banking and Credit Institutions.

In particular, citizens receive misleading updates and messages, which falsely inform them, that their account has been deactivated and ask them to confirm their access details and various account information to the Bank /Credit Institution. The confirmation of the data is done through fake websites of The Banking / Credit Institutions.

The public is asked to be very careful and not to disclose to any person their personal details and passwords of their bank accounts. No bank/credit institution will ever ask for its customer passwords.
Before the passwords are placed, make sure that it is the authentic website of the Bank / Credit Institution with which it cooperates and maintains an account.
