In an online intervention, the director of the Paediatric Clinic of Makarios Hospital, Dr Abraham Elias, addresses the anti-vaccinators and refers to a number of reasons why vaccines are necessary.
This is the intervention of Dr Abraham Elias:
- Vaccines, along with antibiotics, are, over time, the greatest discoveries of medicine, since they have saved millions of souls around the world.
- Vaccination guidelines, from the café, the hairdresser, the internet, you finally have to stop. Don't irresponsibly influence naïve people.
- Personally, after 42 years of working in medicine, I'm not in a position to issue guidelines. On the contrary, I study and implement those of the largest, reliable and internationally recognized scientific Medical Societies and Organizations. You should know that everyone on this subject converges on a single conclusion: Yes, universal vaccination.
- Those who fight vaccines so furiously, and indeed those of pandemics, you should know that they are the best studied. This is because vaccines have been given to billions of our fellow human beings so far around the world. They have been proven beyond any doubt that they are extremely effective but also safe. Therefore, their mass use is a one-way street to tackle the Pandemic.
- You should know that you haven't been seriously ill so far, because the vast majority of the citizens of your country have been vaccinated, thus raising a firewall for you. The firewall would have been taller and the effects of the Pandemic less, if you had contributed responsibly to this effort.
- Harvard graduate. You should know that Harvard itself requires all its students to enrol in the new academic year, with a vaccination certificate for Covid-19. I wonder why?
- You have to stop commenting on the internet with abusive and emetic comments against the vast majority of scientists but also those who have the opposite view to yourself. That's how you show your mental level and the predicament you've been in.
- God enlighten you and mercy on you...
