ART EXHIBITION by Giannis Aristotelous - The Art Gallery of Paphos [Hani of Ibrahim] - 15 July to 20 August

Filenews 21 July 2021

The Art Gallery of Paphos (Hani of Ibrahim) presents the exhibition of paintings by the artist Giannis Aristotelous.

The exhibition, which runs until 20 August, includes monumental works that act as "rooms" that invite the viewer to a deeply mental experience. The works and their symbolism offer a strong aura of adrenaline, creating in the viewer various kinds of perspectives: vision through tears, sweat, blood and humidity.

These views involve each other between the environment and the viewer through thin colour veils. A Dionysian experience that works in mixing but also in uniformity between body and environment.

Aristotle gathered the close carnal relationship of many objects with each other, indicating elements of human desire and experiences hidden in the veils of light. One can say that the fundamental objects of these works are as if they can be seen through a thin Japanese rice paper, where their form appears and is lost.

Giannis Aristotle is a graduate of Fine Arts with Honours from the University of Newcastle in England and the University of Applied Arts in Vienna. He has won a master's degree in the arts at Kyoto University of The Arts in Japan.

Duration of exhibition: 15 July to 20 August.

Exhibition hours: Monday - Thursday 9am - 4pm, Friday 9am - 1pm, Saturday 9am -1pm and 4pm - 7pm.
