960 NEW CASES, SATURDAY

960 reached the new cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours, according to the announcement of the Ministry of Health.

specifically:

  • No deaths of patients with a final cause of death on COVID-19 were recorded today, so the total number of deaths remains 380.
  • 125 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, 32 of whom are in serious condition.
  • A total of 69,310 disease detection tests have been carried out using the molecular method (PCR) and the antigen rapid test.
  • 960 (positivity rate: 1.39%) new cases of COVID-19 disease have been identified by molecular tests (PCRs) and antigen rapid tests, bringing the total number of cases to 83,423.

Here are today's results in detail.

A. Deaths from COVID-19:

No deaths of COVID-19 patients were recorded. Therefore, the total number of deaths with the final cause of COVID-19 remains 380, of which:

  • 254 men (67%), and
  • 126 women (33%).

The average age of the deceased from the disease is 77.3 years.

B. Hospitalized:

A total of 125 patients with COVID-19 disease are hospitalized in OKYP Hospitals, 32 of whom are in serious condition or in MAF conditions.

Of the 32 patients in serious condition, 13 are intubated, one is hospitalized in an Off-Respirator Intensive Care Unit and 18 are in an Increased Care Unit.

In detail the situation in the hospitals is as follows:

C. Positive events COVID-19 (PCR test and rapid antigen test):

Of the 69,310 diagnoses currently carried out, 8,097 were made using the molecular method (PCR) and 61,213 using the antigen rapid test, 960 cases of COVID-19 disease were identified, resulting as follows:

  • 105 cases from 1,164 samples taken through the process of tracing contacts of already confirmed cases.
  • 6 cases from 2,223 samples taken as part of a passenger check at Larnaca and Paphos Airports.
  • 219 cases out of 4,334 samples taken through a private initiative.
  • 13 cases from 247 samples taken from the Microbiological Laboratories of the General Hospitals.
  • 1 case of 129 samples taken as part of the referral program by Personal Physicians and special teams control through public health clinics.
  • 44 cases from 1,548 samples tested using the antigen rapid test in private clinical laboratories and pharmacies.
  • 572 cases out of 59,665 samples examined using the antigen rapid test.
