The public commitment of the President of the Republic at the opening ceremony of the Pafos Innovation Institute on 30 October last year to the transfer of the historical Carobmills of Paphos to the Municipal Authority, as you know, has already taken shape. After the transfer from the state to the municipal authority of the historical site, the Municipality of Paphos then proceeded to clean up the historic buildings and now the citizens of Paphos are waiting for what will be the exact form of the exploitation of Carobmills. Revealing information to "F" indicates that this exploitation has already been decided and "locked" and concerns the academic sector.
In particular, the Municipal Authority is reported to have already completed contacts and processes with a university for its transfer to Paphos and operation - apparently its annex - in the area of Carobmills located on The Apostle Paul Avenue.
The procedures have been initiated in recent times at a very rapid pace, since at the end of last November President Anastasiades' commitment that the Council of Ministers would decide to grant the historical site for Paphos, in order to benefit from the appropriate use by the municipal authority, was implemented without delay. Immediately, following this positive development, the Municipality of Paphos announced a call of interest for the removal of metal and other structures from the building complex of Charoymyla, a process that was also implemented quickly.
Plus, the final step in the exploitation and promotion of the site is expected soon to be communicated to civil society and, as everything shows, the site will be used as another academic home in the city, where Neapolis University, Alexander College, CDA College and Pafos Innovation Institute are already active.
