On the Larnaca –Paralimni Airport motorway, between 13/05/2021 and 30/06/2021,daily except weekends, between the hours of 8:30am. and 5:00 p.m., maintenance work will be carried out on the greenery of the central islets, by the Department of Forests. During the work, in a section of the motorway from the Rizoelia Roundabout to Paralimni, the tangent lane of the central islet will be partially closed, from both directions for a length of 1500m. approximately each time and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane.
Also on the Paralimni-Larnaca Airport motorway, during the period 28/6/2021 – 08/07/2021, between the hours of 08:30 – 15:00, daily except Friday and weekend, the Department of Forests will carry out green watering work on the central islet of the road. During the above period, it will be partially closed at a length of 1.5 km. approximately the right lane of traffic, from the roundabout of Rizoellia to the 3rd exit of Xylophagos and traffic will be channelled to the adjacent lane of traffic.
Work to care for the greenery of the central islets on motorways of the province of Larnaca, will be carried out during the period 31/05/2021-30/06/2021, by the Department of Forests as follows:
a) Monday to Thursday, between 08:30-17:00, on the Larnaca-Paralimni airport and Larnaca-Nicosia motorways, from the airport roundabout to the Rizoelia roundabout and then to Nicosia
b) Friday, between 08:30-17:00, on the Larnaca-Kofinou motorway
During the work, the tangent of the central islet lane will be partially closed, from both directions for a length of 1500m. approximately, each time, traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane.
On the Paphos-Limassol motorway, during the period 2/6/2021 - 2/7/2021,on weekdays between the hours of 8:00am. - 3:00p.m., in the section from Erimi to Aphrodite's Rock, work will be carried out for watering plantations within the central islet by the Department of Forests. During the course of the work, the right lane will be partially closed, in the direction from Limassol to Paphos at a length of about 1000 m and traffic will be channelled into the left lane.
On the Nicosia-Limassol motorway, from Wednesday 14 April, 2021 work will be carried out to improve the Kornos junction. The work will take 15 months and concerns on the one hand the improvement of the existing branches of the junction on the west side of the motorway, for entry to the motorway from Korno/ Pyrga to Nicosia and for exit from Limassol to Korno/ Pyrga, and on the other hand the creation of a new entrance on the east side, from Korno/ Pyrga to Limassol.
Work on the Nicosia-Limassol motorway will also take place from Wednesday, 23/6/2021 until Thursday, 1/7/2021 between the hours of 20:00in the evening and 06:00 in the morning of the next day, except Friday and weekend, for maintenance of the road in the section of the motorway from the chapel exit to the Moni exit, heading towards Nicosia. During the work, both lanes of the motorway will be partially closed from Limassol to Nicosia at a length of 3 km. and traffic will be diverted to oncoming traffic which will operate in two-way traffic.
In Limassol, on Monday 28/6/2021,from 22:00 to 6:00 a.m. the next day, the roundabout Mesa Neighbourhood will carry out asphalt road maintenance work. During the work will be closed: the exit lane from the Bypass towards Germasogeia to the roundabout Mesa Neighbourhood, as well as the lane leading from the roundabout of Agios Athanasios to the roundabout Mesa Neighbourhood. Traffic traffic from Germasogeia to the roundabout Mesa Neighbourhood will take place through the roundabout of Agios Athanasios and the secondary road network.
Also in Limassol, on Wednesday 30/6/2021, from 2:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m., at the photo-controlled junction of Archbishop Makarios III and Stavros Stylianides streets in Mesa Neighbourhood, asphalt road maintenance will be carried out. During the work will be closed: part of Stavros Stylianides Street, despite the photo-controlled contribution, part of Archbishop Makarios III Street rather than the church of Apostolos Andreas as well as the lanes from the roundabout Mesa Neighbourhood to city centre. Traffic will be channelled through Kyriakou Matsi, Agios Panteleimonos and the secondary road network.
On the bypass road of Germasogeia,work continues to improve the road. Between 8 March 2021 and 19 July 2021, part of Psara Street, at its junction with Agios Georgios Street, will be closed to traffic in both directions. During the work, traffic will be channelled through Agia Paraskevi and Isabella streets and similar roads.
On Stasinou Avenue, Nicosia, on Sunday 27/6/2021 from 06:00–18:00, road repair work will be carried out, from its junction with Evagorou Avenue (Freedom Square), to its junction with Eugenia and Theodotus Avenue (Lights NO). During the work, The Avenue of Stasinos will be closed to a section about 1,000 meters long and traffic will be traffic through the adjacent lanes.
On Makarios Avenue, nicosia, from its junction with Andreas Araouzos Street to the junction with Karpenisiou Street, from 17:00 on Friday 25/06/2021 until 05:00 on Monday 28/06/2021, all lanes will be closed due to pipeline replacement work by the Nicosia Water Supply Council. Drivers heading to the city centre are encouraged to use Romanos Street to get to their destination while drivers heading to Limassol are encouraged to use Naxos Street.
In Nicosia, on Spyros Kyprianou Avenue, from its junction with Limassol Avenue to the Tseri roundabout, from Monday 14/6/2021 until Friday 18/8/2021,from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. the next morning, road repairs will be carried out. During the work the left lanes of traffic will be closed in sections about 1000m long, and traffic will be diverted.
Also in Nicosia, from Wednesday 19/05/2021, until the end of June, on Digeni Akrita Avenue, heading from the traffic lights of Agios Antonios to the traffic lights of Lycabettus, work will be carried out on the reconstruction of sidewalks and the configuration of parallel parking spaces on the south side of the avenue. For this purpose, one lane will be closed to vehicles. The road is expected to reopen with two lanes at the end of June with its final configuration.
In the Nicosia province, from Monday 19/4/21 and for a period of 6months, except Saturday, Sunday and public holidays, between 07:00 and 17:00, road repair work will be carried out on roads in various areas. During the execution of the work, one lane will be partially closed at a length of approximately 200 metres and traffic will be carried out in the other lane, using a "STOP & GO" sign.
On the old Nicosia-Limassol road, as part of the construction work of the Road Network of the Vasilikos Energy Centre, during the period 24/4/2021 - 23/10/2021, the eastern road connecting the old Road Nicosia - Limassol with the port of Vasilikos will be closed to traffic police. During the work, traffic to and from Vasilikos will be diverted to the corresponding western road, via Marie, except for vehicles and pedestrians moving to and from similar properties for which the appropriate arrangements will be made.
Also on the old Nicosia-Limassol road, during the period 27/05/2021-30/07/2021 daily outside weekends, between the hours 07:00-16:00, construction work will be carried out on water pipelines, by the Department of Water Development. During the work, part of one lane of traffic, the old Nicosia-Limassol road, from the 'Stavrovouni Reservoir' to the pumping station of the TAV in Kofinou, heading towards Kofinou, will be partially closed at a length of about 100 meters (total length of 650 meters, approximately) and traffic will be routed into the next lane, using temporary traffic lights.
On the old Nicosia-Limassol road also, during the period 21/06/2021–13/08/2021 daily except weekends and public holidays, between the hours 07:00 – 16:00, construction work will be carried out on water pipelines by the Department of Water Development. During the work, part of one lane of the road, from the "Pig Tank" to the pumping station of the TY in Kofinou towards Kofinou, will be partially closed at a length of about 100 meters (total length of about 850 meters) and traffic will be routed into the adjacent lane, using temporary traffic lights.
In part of the old Limassol -Nicosia road, despite the Monastery junction, work continues to build/install a pipeline for the needs of SALA, by a private company. The work will last until Friday 30/7/2021 and will take place from 7:00am. until 4:00pm, daily except Sundays and public holidays. During the work, the northern traffic lane towards Nicosia will be partially closed at a length of 120m. approximately, traffic will be diverted to the southbound lane and traffic will be managed with temporary traffic lights.
In a section of the old Paphos-Limassol road, 2800 meters long from the Diocese of Limassol and after the intersection of Colossi Castle, the work of cable laying by a private telecommunications company for cable installation continues. The work will last until Friday 2/7/2021 and will take place from 07:00 until 16:00 daily except weekends and holidays. During the course of the work, the southbound lane towards Limassol will be partially closed at a length of approximately 80 metres, traffic will be diverted to the northbound lane and traffic will be managed with the "STOP & GO" system.
