In preparation for the opening of the crossings, the Greek Cypriot side has already, at least from Ledra, moved the railings by the Police, so they are prepared once the agreement is reached to between the two sides.
Mavrogiannis and Olgun meet for a teleconference at 12.15, under the UN Special Representative in Cyprus Elizabeth Spehar, in order to put on the table the final details of the reopening of the crossing points next Friday. A statement from the United Nations is expected to be issued at the end of the teleconference.
For his part, Mr Kousios made it clear that the aim is for the crossing points to open next Friday, in the form of the situation before the COVID-19 pandemic, with the sole differentiation of the production of the necessary certificates for the crown.
He also noted that the decision to reopen the crossings is taken on the basis of epidemiological data in relation to the coronavirus, but a political decision remains.
