Only Pfizer's vaccine will vaccinate 16- and 17-year-olds, explained The Deputy Director of Pharmaceutical Services, Elena Panagiotopoulou.
Speaking on state radio, Ms . Panagiotopoulou made it clear that only Pfizer's vaccine is licensed for people aged 16 years and over.
He assured that the vaccine is safe, since thousands of children aged 16 and 17 were included in the clinical trials with fairly satisfactory results.
With regard to cases of pericarditis and myocarditis investigated by the European Medicines Agency for this company's vaccine, Ms. Panagiotopoulou stressed that at present no association has been demonstrated with the use of this preparation.
It also noted that vaccination of children of younger ages may also be decided at some stage.
