Animals are prohibited from being presented at events, the Veterinary Services said in a statement.
On the occasion of an incident of the disposal of live turtles instead of bonbonières, in the context of a wedding event, it is clarified to the public that the disposal of animals as gifts at events, such as festivals, weddings, christenings, dances, Christmas or Easter, is prohibited, on the basis of the Animal Protection and Welfare (Possession and Sale of Animals) Regulations of 2021 governing the sale and possession of pets, the Veterinary Services stress.
As the GM transmits, the Veterinary Services point out both to the organizers of these kinds of events and to the public, not to offer and accept animals as gifts, as, in addition to being prohibited under the law, this action is unethical, since it treats animals as objects and not as living organisms, experiencing suffering and suffering.
