On Sunday, June 27, 2021, a joint Cyprus-Greece Search and Rescue exercise was held under the name "SALAMIS - 03/21". The exercise took place within the area of responsibility of the Republic of Cyprus, with the participation of the Hellenic Frigate "KANARIS", Helicopter of the 460 Search and Rescue Squadron of the National Guard, as well as specialized nurses of the Ambulance Service of the Organization of State Health Services.
This exercise, coordinated by the Larnaca Search and Rescue Coordination Centre, in cooperation with the Greek Navy General Staff, is the 3rd planned search-and-rescue activity in 2021 and is part of the existing Transnational R&D Agreement between Cyprus and Greece.
