The summer hunt for fassa-trygon will begin this year on Sunday, August 22, 2021, while the hunt for hare and partridge will begin on Sunday, October 31st. A delegation of the Cyprus Federation of Hunting and Wildlife Conservation, led by the President of the Federation Elias Pekris, had meetings with the head of the Service and Fauna Pantelis Hatzigeros, during which the two sides, after a thorough discussion, agreed on all hunting excursions in Cyprus between August 2021 and February 2022.
In particular, hunting will be allowed during the hunting season as follows:
Summer license of Fassa-Trygon-Regions A': There will be seven excursions (five Sundays and two Wednesdays). Sundays 22 and 29 August, Sundays 5, 12 and 19 September and Wednesdays 8 and 15 September.
Areas B ( Troodos): Hunting of fassa-trygon will be allowed on Sundays 22 and 29 August and from 1 September Sunday and Wednesday until 29 September.
Areas C ( Beach): Hunting of fassa-trygon will be allowed on Sundays 22 and 29 August and from 1st to 30th September daily.
Areas D ( Inland and coastal): Hunting of fassa-trygon will be allowed on Sundays 22 and 29 August and from 30 August daily until 29 October. Between 31 October when hunting of hare and partridge will begin, hunting will be allowed in some areas until 28 February 2022. Actually, it's about the jicles. Hunting of hare, partridge and frangolina will be prohibited in these areas.
Endemic prey: Hunting of hare, partridge and frangolina will be allowed from Sunday 31 October 2021 until 29 December. In total hunting of endemic prey will be allowed for 18 outings.
Jiclas Hunt: It will begin on January 2, 2022 and end on February 28. During the last three excursions of the jiclas hunting will be allowed daily.
Bekatsa Hunting: The Bekatsa Hunt begins on January 4, 2022 and will end on February 19. The excursions will take place on Tuesdays and Saturdays. This year, a total of 14 excursions were given. Hunting will be allowed from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The cost of the excursions has also been differentiated. For the first dog the license is 30 euros, while if the hunter wants to use and the second will pay 5 instead of another 30 euros. It is clarified that only one dog will accompany the hunter on the excursion. On another excursion he can take with him another dog, whom he must have declared. A reset dog may also be used in the hunting of jiklas, but in the specified areas. Christmas and New Year's will be forbidden to hunt.
