One death and 83 new cases of COVID-19 disease announced today by the Ministry of Health.
The total number of deaths has risen to 363. 52 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, 18 of whom are in serious condition.
A total of 54,217 disease detection tests have been carried out using the molecular method (PCR) and the antigen rapid test. 83 (positivity rate: 0.15%) new cases of COVID-19 disease have been identified by molecular tests (PCRs) and antigen rapid tests, bringing the total number of cases to 72,709.
One person who died with the final cause of death attributed to COVID-19 disease concerns a man, aged 92, who ended up in Limassol General Hospital.
Therefore, the total number of deaths with the final cause of COVID-19 is 363, of which 241 are men (66%), and 122 women (34%).
The average age of the deceased from the disease is 78 years.
B. Hospitalized:
A total of 52 patients with COVID-19 disease are hospitalized in OKYP Hospitals, 18 of whom are in serious condition or in MAF conditions.
Of the 18 patients in serious condition, 11 are intubated, two are hospitalized in an Off-Respirator Intensive Care Unit and five are in an Increased Care Unit.
In detail the situation in the hospitals is as follows:

C. Positive events COVID-19 (PCR test and rapid antigen test):
Of the 54,217 diagnoses currently carried out, 6,389 were made using the molecular method (PCR) and 47,828 using the antigen rapid test, 83 cases of COVID-19 disease were identified, resulting as follows:
- 28 cases from 354 samples taken through the process of tracing contacts of already confirmed cases.
- 7 cases from 3,623 samples taken as part of a passenger check at Larnaca and Paphos Airports.
- 14 cases from 1,898 samples taken through a private initiative.\
- 5 cases from 292 samples taken from the Microbiological Laboratories of the General Hospitals.
- 2 cases from 529 samples tested using the antigen rapid test in private clinical laboratories and pharmacies.
- 27 cases from 47,299 samples tested using the antigen rapid test.
In addition, the following tests were carried out, without the detection of a case:
- 222 samples taken under the programme of referrals by Personal Physicians and control of special teams through the Public Health Clinics.
In detail, the rapid antigen detection tests were carried out today as follows:
12 new incidents in the occupied territories
A total of 12 new cases of coronavirus were detected in the last 24 hours in the occupied by 8,752 diagnostic tests.
As transmitted to the occupied territories, seven cases were domestic, four were contacts of a confirmed case and one came from abroad.
Of the seven domestically, 3 were located in Nicosia, 2 in Famagusta and the other two from Lefka.
The total cases of coronavirus to date in the occupied territories amount to 7,387 and the deaths to 33.
