67 (positivity rate: 0.32%) new cases of COVID-19 disease were identified today by molecular tests (PCR) and antigen rapid test, bringing the total number of cases to 73,710.
According to the announcement of the Ministry of Health:
- No deaths of patients with a final cause of death of COVID-19 were recorded today, so the total number of deaths remains 378.
- 46 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, 19 of whom are in serious condition.
- A total of 21,250 disease detection tests have been carried out using the molecular method (PCR) and the antigen rapid test.
Here are today's results in detail.
A. Deaths from COVID-19:
No deaths of COVID-19 patients were recorded. Therefore, the total number of deaths with the final cause of COVID-19 remains 378, of which:
- 254 men (67%), and
- 124 women (33%).
The average age of the deceased from the disease is 77 years.
B. Hospitalized:
A total of 46 patients with COVID-19 disease are hospitalized in THE O.C.P. hospitals, 19 of whom are in serious condition or in MAF conditions.
Of the 19 patients in serious condition, 10 are intubated, one is hospitalized in an Off-Respirator Intensive Care Unit and eight in an Increased Care Unit.
C. Positive events COVID-19 (PCR test and rapid antigen test):
Of the 21,250 diagnoses currently carried out, 4,944 were made using the molecular method (PCR) and 16,306 using the antigen rapid test, 67 cases of COVID-19 disease were identified, resulting as follows:
- 11 cases from 4,399 samples taken as part of a passenger check at Larnaca and Paphos Airports.
- 3 cases from 477 samples taken through a private initiative.
- 5 cases from 68 samples taken from the Microbiological Laboratories of the General Hospitals.
- 1 case of 194 samples examined using the antigen rapid test in private clinical laboratories and pharmacies.
- 47 cases from 16,112 samples tested using the antigen rapid test.
