At 62 are the positive cases of coronavirus announced on Saturday by the Ministry of Health.
At the same time, no deaths of patients with a final cause of death of COVID-19 were recorded today, so the total number of deaths remains 378.
44 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, 21 of whom are in serious condition.
A total of 41,226 disease detection tests have been carried out using the molecular method (PCR) and the antigen rapid test.
62 (positivity rate: 0.15%) new cases of COVID-19 disease have been identified by molecular tests (PCRs) and antigen rapid tests, bringing the total number of cases to 73,582.
Here are today's results in detail.
A. Deaths from COVID-19:
No deaths of COVID-19 patients were recorded. Therefore, the total number of deaths with the final cause of COVID-19 remains 378, of which:
- 254 men (67%), and
- 124 women (33%).
The average age of the deceased from the disease is 77 years.
B. Hospitalized:
A total of 44 patients with COVID-19 disease are hospitalized in THE OKYP hospital, 21 of whom are in serious condition or in MAF conditions.
Of the 21 patients in serious condition, nine are intubated, one is hospitalized in an Off-Respirator Intensive Care Unit and 11 are in an Increased Care Unit.

C. Positive events COVID-19 (PCR test and rapid antigen test):
Of the 41,226 diagnoses currently carried out, 5,337 were made using the molecular method (PCR) and 35,889 using the antigen rapid test, 62 cases of COVID-19 disease were identified, resulting as follows:
- 8 cases from 3,708 samples taken as part of a passenger check at Larnaca and Paphos Airports.
- 7 cases from 1,502 samples taken through a private initiative.
- 1 case of 127 samples taken from the Microbiological Laboratories of the General Hospitals.
- 46 cases from 35,686 samples tested using the antigen rapid test.
In addition, the following tests were carried out, without the detection of a case:
- 203 samples tested using the antigen rapid test in private clinical laboratories and pharmacies.
