The Ministry of Health announces that today, 23 June 2021, no person's death has been recorded, while the new positive cases of the disease are 167.
specifically:
-No deaths of patients with a final cause of death on COVID-19 were recorded today, so the total number of deaths remains 378.-43 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, 19 of whom are in serious condition.
-A total of 33,413 disease detection tests have been carried out using the molecular method (PCR) and the antigen rapid test.
-167 (positivity rate: 0.50%) new cases of COVID-19 disease have been identified by molecular tests (PCRs) and antigen rapid tests, bringing the total number of cases to 73,999.
Here are today's results in detail.
A. Deaths from COVID-19:
No deaths of COVID-19 patients were recorded. Therefore, the total number of deaths with the final cause of COVID-19 remains 378, of which:
- 254 men (67%), and
- 124 women (33%).
The average age of the deceased from the disease is 77 years.
B. Hospitalized:
A total of 43 patients with COVID-19 disease are hospitalized in THE O.C.P. hospitals, 19 of whom are in serious condition or in MAF conditions.
Of the 19 patients in serious condition, 10 are intubated, one is hospitalized in an Off-Respirator Intensive Care Unit and eight in an Increased Care Unit.

C. Positive events COVID-19 (PCR test and rapid antigen test):
Of the 33,413 diagnoses currently carried out, 4,876 were made using the molecular method (PCR) and 28,537 using the antigen rapid test, 167 cases of COVID-19 disease were identified, resulting as follows:
- 35 cases from 317 samples taken through the process of tracing contacts of already confirmed cases.
- 3 cases of 2,389 samples taken as part of a passenger check at Larnaca and Paphos Airports.
- 17 cases from 1,749 samples taken through a private initiative.
- 2 cases from 273 samples taken from the Microbiological Laboratories of the General Hospitals.
- 2 cases from 148 samples taken as part of the programme of referrals by Personal Physicians and special teams control through the Public Health Clinics.
- 2 cases from 447 samples tested using the antigen rapid test in private clinical laboratories and pharmacies.
- 106 cases from 28,090 samples tested using the antigen rapid test.
