WORLD ROAD SAFETY WEEK AND MOTORCYCLE ENLIGHTENMENT WEEK - 17-23 May




 As part of global road safety week, police are announcing a week of enlightenment and policing with road checks on motorcycles and mopeds with the ultimate aim of reducing serious and fatal road traffic injuries.

The Cyprus road checks began today, Monday 17 May and will last until Sunday 23 May, 2021.
During the checks special attention will be paid to the following traffic offences:


Dangerous driving.   Non-use of protective helmet.   Noisy exhaust.  Change, conversion or adjustment of the engine.  Violation of the speed limit and Driving without a driving licence. Also, the Police will show zero tolerance to other traffic offences that contribute to causing fatal and serious road collisions.
