On the occasion of the presence of the French aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle in the wider Eastern Mediterranean region, the air exercise under the name 'TALOS 2021' takes place today and tomorrow.
The exercise, which is part of the implementation of the defence cooperation programme between Cyprus and France, will take place in part of the land and airspace of the territory of the Republic of Cyprus.
As part of the exercise, French Rafale fighters will fly between the hours of 12:00m. and 6:00 p.m.
The main purpose of the exercise is to control the air defense system of the Republic of Cyprus and practice for the personnel of the National Guard in real conditions.
The exercise will be attended by the Minister of Defence, Mr Charalambos Petridis.
