Paphos is now faced with the prospect of becoming the first covid-free region of Cyprus to be visible. For the past three days in Paphos, thousands of rapid and molecular tests have recorded only one positive case per day, with positivity rates of 0.02 or 0.03%.
This situation contributes to the expected that, apart from a serious and unexpected setback, Paphos will become the first province in which we will see 'zero cases' reported again in a year.
This spectacular improvement, according to the experts, is not unrelated to the pioneering of Paphos in the rhythms of the vaccination program, since as announced by the competent committee two days ago Paphos records the highest vaccination rate of the population with more than 46% of its inhabitants.
It is also considered important that the vast majority of Paphos residents are disciplined in health directives and restrictions, avoiding the phenomena of mass violations of these directives that have been observed from time to time in other provinces.
