Episodic was the night of the Big Saturday in Limassol, after young people started early with firecrackers and lit a fire and then set fire to a police car.
The fire in the police vehicle reportedly broke out after a Molotov cocktail was thrown.
It all started just before the Resurrection, when a patrol of the Infectious Cleansing team went to the area of Agios Nikolaos because young people lit a fire of car tires and threw firecrackers.
Members of the Force, in their attempt to control the area, got out of the patrol car with the youths throwing firecrackers, molotovs and stones.
In Zakaki, young people threw firecrackers and when they saw a police patrol, stones and molotovs were thrown, causing the windscreen to break.
In St. Anthony, members of the Force proceeded to arrest a 17-year-old after a group of youths were pursued who were performing the same actions.
In Agios Athanasios, a moped was completely destroyed.
At first light of day, tests began in various parts of the city, and CCTV footage is expected to be received.
