One dead and 79 new cases of COVID-19 disease announced today by the Ministry of Health.
One person has died of COVID-19 disease, bringing the total number of deaths to 357.
97 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, 37 of whom are in serious condition.
A total of 43,347 disease detection tests have been carried out using the molecular method (PCR) and the antigen rapid test.
79 (positivity rate: 0.18%) new cases of COVID-19 disease have been identified by molecular tests (PCRs) and antigen rapid tests, bringing the total number of cases to 72,090.
A. Deaths from COVID-19:
One person who died with the final cause of death attributed to COVID-19 disease concerns: a man, aged 77, who ended up in Limassol General Hospital.
Therefore, the total number of deaths with the final cause of COVID-19 is 357, of which 238 are men (67%), and 119 women (33%).
The average age of the deceased from the disease is 78 years.
B. Hospitalized:
A total of 97 patients with COVID-19 disease are hospitalized in OKYY hospitals, 37 of whom are in serious condition or in MAF conditions.
Of the 37 patients in serious condition, 24 are intubated, five are hospitalized in an Off-Respirator Intensive Care Unit and eight are in an Increased Care Unit.

C. Positive events COVID-19 (PCR test and rapid antigen test):
Of the 43,347 diagnoses currently carried out, 5,035 were made using the molecular method (PCR) and 38,312 using the antigen rapid test, 79 cases of COVID-19 disease were identified, resulting as follows:
- 12 cases from 221 samples taken through the process of tracing contacts of already confirmed cases.
- 1 case of 2,492 samples taken as part of a passenger check at Larnaca and Paphos Airports.
- 17 cases from 1,559 samples taken through a private initiative.
- 4 cases from 376 samples taken from the Microbiological Laboratories of the General Hospitals.
- 2 cases from 844 samples tested using the antigen rapid test in private clinical laboratories and pharmacies.
- 43 cases out of 37,468 samples tested using the antigen rapid test.
In addition, the following tests were carried out, without the detection of a case:
- 281 samples taken as part of the referral programme by Personal Physicians and special teams control through the Public Health Clinics.
- 106 samples taken from the residents of Kato Pyrgos, Tylliria.

18 new incidents in the occupied territories
In the last 24 hours, 18 new cases of coronavirus have been detected in the occupied territories, following 9,361 checks.
According to a statement from the pseudo-state's "ministry of health", one of the incidents came from abroad, four are contacts of already confirmed cases and 13 are local transmissions. The three were located in Nicosia, 8 in Kyrenia, one in Famagusta and one in Lefka.
Total cases in the occupied territories amounted to 7,121, while 33 deaths were recorded.
