Five dead and 509 new cases announced Tuesday by the Department of Health.
Five people have died of COVID-19 disease, bringing the total number of deaths to 326.
263 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, of which 65 are in serious condition. The median age of the hospitalized is 58.6 years.
A total of 62,459 disease detection tests have been carried out using the molecular method (PCR) and the antigen rapid test.
509 (positivity rate: 0.81%) new cases of COVID-19 disease have been identified by molecular tests (PCRs) and antigen rapid tests, bringing the total number of cases to 67,420.
A. Deaths from COVID-19:
The five people who died with the final cause of death attributed to COVID-19 concern:
- Male, aged 61, with no history of vaccination, who ended up in the Intensive Care Unit of Nicosia General Hospital.
- Male, aged 74, with a history of vaccination (1st dose), who ended up in the Intensive Care Unit of Nicosia General Hospital.
- Woman, aged 64, with no history of vaccination, who ended up in the Intensive Care Unit of Nicosia General Hospital.
- Male, aged 81, with a history of vaccination (1st dose), who ended up in Larnaca General Hospital.
- Male, aged 56, with no history of vaccination, who ended up in the Intensive Care Unit of Nicosia General Hospital.
Therefore, the total number of deaths with the final cause of COVID-19 is 326, of which 213 are men (65%), and 113 women (35%).
The average age of the deceased from the disease is 77.8 years.
B. Hospitalized:
A total of 263 patients with COVID-19 disease are hospitalized in THE OKYP hospitals, 65 of whom are in serious condition or in MAF conditions.
Of the 65 patients critical, 26 are intubated, six are hospitalized in an Off-Respirator Intensive Care Unit and 33 are in an Increased Care Unit.

C. Positive events COVID-19 (PCR test and rapid antigen test):
Of the 62,459 diagnoses currently carried out, 4,537 were made using the molecular method (PCR) and 57,922 using the antigen rapid test, 509 cases of COVID-19 disease were identified, resulting as follows:
- 31 cases from 665 samples taken through the process of tracing contacts of already confirmed cases.
- 3 cases of 1,750 samples taken as part of a passenger check at Larnaca and Paphos Airports.
- 47 cases from 1,520 samples taken through a private initiative.
- 7 cases from 244 samples taken from the Microbiological Laboratories of the General Hospitals.
- 2 cases from 358 samples taken under the referral program by Personal Physicians and special teams control through Public Health Clinics.
- 19 cases from 717 samples tested using the antigen rapid test in private clinical laboratories and pharmacies.
- 400 cases from 57,205 samples tested using the antigen rapid test.

Sixty new incidents in the occupied territories
A total of 60 new cases of coronavirus were diagnosed in the last 24 hours in the occupied territories. As announced by the "Ministry of Health" there were 9,502 tests.
The notice states that two people who tested positive for the virus arrived abroad, 9 were contacts of already confirmed cases and 49 cases related to infections within the community.
21 people live in Nicosia, 15 in Kyrenia, 12 in Famagusta and 1 in Lefka.
The total number of confirmed cases is 6,463. The death toll stands at 32.
