No deaths were recorded due to coronavirus, while new positive cases of the virus reach 44.
According to the announcement of the Ministry of Health:
- No deaths of patients with a final cause of death on COVID-19 were recorded today, so the total number of deaths remains 360.
- 73 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, of which 32 are in serious condition.
- A total of 47,156 disease detection tests have been carried out using the molecular method (PCR) and the antigen rapid test.
- 44 (positivity rate: 0.09%) new cases of COVID-19 disease have been identified by molecular tests (PCRs) and antigen rapid tests, bringing the total number of cases to 72,407.
Here are today's results in detail.
A. Deaths from COVID-19:
No deaths of COVID-19 patients were recorded today. Therefore, the total number of deaths with the final cause of COVID-19 remains 360, of which:
- 240 men (67%), and
- 120 women (33%).
The average age of the deceased from the disease is 78 years.
B. Hospitalized:
A total of 73 patients with COVID-19 disease are hospitalized in THE O.C.P. hospitals, 32 of whom are in serious condition or in MAF conditions.
Of the 32 patients in serious condition, 18 are intubated, five are hospitalized in an Off-Respirator Intensive Care Unit and nine are in an Increased Care Unit.
In detail the situation in the hospitals is as follows:
C. Positive events COVID-19 (PCR test and rapid antigen test):
Of the 47,156 diagnoses currently carried out, 5,210 were made using the molecular method (PCR) and 41,946 using the antigen rapid test, 44 cases of COVID-19 disease were identified, resulting as follows:
- 7 cases from 109 samples taken through the process of tracing contacts of already confirmed cases.
- 7 cases from 4,059 samples taken as part of a passenger check at Larnaca and Paphos Airports.
- 5 cases from 641 samples taken through a private initiative.
- 1 case of 33 samples taken from the Microbiological Laboratories of the General Hospitals.
- 2 cases from 100 samples tested using the antigen rapid test in private clinical laboratories and pharmacies.
- 22 cases from 41,846 samples tested using the antigen rapid test.
In addition, the following tests were carried out, without the detection of a case:
- 221 samples taken under the programme of referrals by Personal Physicians and special teams control through the Public Health Clinics.
- 147 samples taken from the residents of Kato Pyrgos Tylliria.
