WORKERS EXCLUDED FROM RAPID TESTS

 Filenews 24 April 2021

Following yesterday's Decisions of the Council of Ministers, and on the basis of the Decree, dated 23 April 2021, the Ministry of Health recalls that, with effect from 26 April, the proportion of workers in the private, public and wider public sectors undergoing rapid antigen detection tests on a weekly basis is increasing to 50% of people working with a physical presence.

It is clarified that in enterprises/services, where the number of employees working in physical presence does not exceed five (5) persons, testing is mandatory for all persons.

It is understood that employers are responsible for the implementation of the provision of the Decree and must ensure that their employees comply with the obligation to check weekly.

It is recalled that the following categories of workers are excluded from the obligation to perform a rapid antigen test:

  • Persons holding a valid vaccination certificate against COVID-19 from the Republic have completed their vaccination regimen with any authorised vaccine and 14days have passed since the last dose was administered, and
  • People who have been positively diagnosed with COVID-19 disease in the last six months.
