The issue of The Direct Air Link of Paphos with the sister city of Alexandria dominates the discussions of Mayor Paphos Phaedon Phaedon with the Governor of the historic city of Egypt Mohamed Elsherif, as part of the three-day official visit that the Egyptian official begins in the city.
The visit was preceded by successive teleconferences between the Mayor of Paphos and the Governor of Alexandria, with the participation of other competent bodies from Cyprus and Egypt, during which specific ways of achieving this objective were discussed in the light of corresponding contacts with both Ryanair Air and the Egyptian low-cost airline Air Cairo, which is affiliated with the state-owned Egypt Air.
The official meeting of the Mayor of Paphos with the Governor of Alexandria will take place on Friday, at 10.00 a.m., at the Municipal Palace of Paphos, in the presence of the Egyptian Ambassador to Cyprus Mohsen Hamza. The meeting will also discuss issues related to Education, cruise tourism, as well as further steps in relations between the two twin cities through cultural exchanges and other joint activities.
As part of his visit to Paphos, the first since taking office, the Governor of Alexandria, accompanied by the Mayor, will tour the traditional commercial center of the city, while he will also tour the archaeological sites of Paphos.
