Pfizer/BioNTech has announced that an additional 100 million doses of their vaccine will be delivered to the European Union.
They are a complement to the agreement on the delivery of a total of 500 million doses in the EU.
"Pfizer and BioNTech announced today that they will provide an additional 100 million doses of its COVID-19 vaccine to the Member States of the European Union in 2021," it said in a statement.
According to the two companies, the European Commission made use of the clause in the agreement on this additional vaccine market.
In fact, the Union's '27' will receive a total of 600 million doses in instalments.
It is noted that a total of four COVID 19 vaccines have been approved in the EU: Pfizer/BioNTech, Moderna, AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson.
