Most foreign pharmaceutical companies with which Russia has entered into an agreement to produce the Russian Sputnik-V vaccine will start producing the vaccine in full force from April, the head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) said Kiril Dmitryv during a meeting he had with Vladimir Putin.
Kiril Dmitryv also said that there are agreements with 10 countries and 20 vaccine producers including the largest in the world, adding that already India and South Korea are producing the Russian vaccine and in April many of these pharmaceutical companies will produce it in full force. The RDIF had earlier announced that it has concluded agreements with 20 pharmaceutical companies and more than 10 countries including India, Brazil, South Korea, China, Serbia, Italy, Belarus, Kazakhstan.
The agreements between the RDIF and the major pharmaceutical companies will ensure that in 2021 sufficient quantities of vaccines are produced to vaccinate 700 million people. The Russian Sputnik-V vaccine has been approved by the relevant regulatory authorities in 59 countries, whose population exceeds 1.5 billion. more than 30 countries have started mass vaccination with the Sputnik-V vaccine.
