On the Limassol – Paphos motorway, as well as on the Limassol bypass road, from the Mouttayakas exit to the uneven junction of the New Limassol Hospital, from the weekend of 17 & 18 April 2021, between the hours of 06:00 – 13:30, work will be carried out on the express lanes of the road. During the work the express lane will be partially closed at a length of 200m. approximately in one direction only, at any time, as well as on the connecting roads of the roundabouts of Limassol bypass and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane.
On the Larnaca-Paralimni Airport motorway, during the period 02/04/2021 – 30/04/2021,between the hours 08:00 – 14:30, daily, except weekends, tree pruning work will be carried out by the Department of Forests. During the work, part of the highway's support from the Larnaca Airport roundabout to the Rizoellia roundabout in both directions alternately will be partially closed at a length of 300m. per time.
Also on the Larnaca -Paralimni motorway, from 12/04/2021 to 27/04/2021,from 07:30 in the morning until 15:00, every day except Saturday and Sunday, periodic maintenance of the exit road to Pyla (Archbishop Makarios III Avenue up to 1 April Avenue within the Community) will be carried out, approximately 3 km long. During the execution of the work, one lane of traffic will be closed on the above Avenues (100 meters at a time) and traffic will be diverted either to the adjacent lane, using stop & go and/or temporary traffic lights or to passageways with appropriate signalling.
On the Nicosia-Kokkinotrimithia Motorway, at the exit to the Archangelos roundabout, from Monday 22/3/2021 from 09:00 in the morning until Monday 26/4/2021 at 18:00 in the afternoon, work will be carried out to build a support wall. During the work the exit of the motorway from Nicosia to the Archangel Roundabout will be closed to traffic. The entrance of Agios Gennadios Street to the Motorway will remain closed. Traffic to Spyros Kyprianou Avenue will take place through the streets of Agios Gennadios and Agios Neophytos.
On the Nicosia-Limassol motorway, from Wednesday 14 April, 2021 work will be carried out to improve the Kornos junction. The work will take 15 months and concerns on the one hand the improvement of the existing branches of the junction on the west side of the motorway, for entry to the motorway from Korno/ Pyrga to Nicosia and for exit from Limassol to Korno/ Pyrga, and on the other hand the creation of a new entrance on the east side, from Korno/ Pyrga to Limassol.
In sections on the Nicosia-Limassol, Nicosia-Larnaca and Nicosia-Kokkinotrimithias motorways, from Monday 18/01/2021 until the end of May 2021,road repair work will be carried out from 8:00 in the evening of each day until 06:00 in the morning of the following day, except Friday, Saturday and Sunday. During the work sections of motorways about 1000 metres long will be closed and traffic will be channelled into the opposite direction, where traffic will be two-way.
On the bypass road of Germasogeia,work continues to improve the road. Between 8 March 2021 and 19 July 2021,part of Psara Street, at its junction with Agios Georgios Street, will be closed to traffic in both directions. During the work, traffic will be channelled through Agia Paraskevi and Isabella streets and similar roads. At the same time, between 8 March 2021 and 26 May 2021,part of Tillyria Street, from its junction with Paros Street to Apollonia Street and part of Apollonia Street to Dedalos Street will be closed to traffic in both directions. During the work, traffic will be channelled through Agia Paraskevi and Potamia roads and similar roads.
In Limassol, On Sunday 18/4/2021 from 6:00am until 11:00 p.m., on Makarios III Avenue, in the section from its junction with John Kennedy Street, to its junction with Amathus Street, excavation and cable installation work will be carried out for A.H.K. by a private contractor. During the work, one lane about 100 m long at a time will be partially closed at any time and traffic will be managed alternately with temporary traffic lights.
On Themistoklis Dervi Street, on Saturday 17/4/2021,between the hours of 06:00 – 15:00, work will be carried out on the construction of a building. During the two lanes of traffic on Themistocles Dervi Road towards Gavriilidis Traffic Lights to Nicosia between Nikokreon and Tykros lanes will be closed and traffic will be diverted to one lane in the opposite direction.
In Egomi, from Saturday 17/4/21 from 7:00 in the morning, until Sunday 18/4/2021 at 19:00 in the afternoon, on the streets of Ionos, Charalambos Mouskou, Vasilis Michaelides and Ion Nikolaou, road repairs will be carried out. During the work parts of the above roads will be closed sequentially and traffic will be diverted to other roads and adjacent lanes.
In the city of Nicosia, from 27/02/2021and for a duration of three months, the traffic lights of the intersection of Makarios Avenue, with the National Guard Street, rather than the Landmark Hotel (formerly Hilton), move further south by 15 meters to complete the construction work on National Guard Street. In particular, the connection between Makarios Avenue and Kallipolis Avenue will be carried out entirely through the temporary bypass of the National Guard Road. It is noted that, for vehicles moving from Limassol to Nicosia, the crossing to Chalkokdyli Street should be via Philimonos Street, while clockwise traffic to the National Guard Road should be carried out normally.
In Kokkinotrimithia, on Tuesday, March 30, 2021and for a period of three weeks, the left lane on Grigori Axentiou Street, heading from Kokkinotrimithia to the Xenopoulos roundabout, will be closed due to work on the base of the road. During the work, appropriate temporary marking will be provided so that only the right lane is used safely.
In the province of Nicosia, from Monday 19/4/21 and for a period of 6 months, except Saturday, Sunday and public holidays, between 07:00 and 17:00, road repair work will be carried out on roads in various areas. During the execution of the work, one lane will be partially closed at a length of approximately 200 metres and traffic will be carried out in the other lane, using a "STOP & GO" marking.
In Aradippou, during the period 2/4/2021 – 30/4/2021,between the hours 08:00 – 14:00,daily except weekends, in parts of the avenues Of Freedom, Australia, Acropolis,Griva Digeni and Spyros Kyprianou, work will be carried out on the maintenance of the green of the central islets, by the Municipality of Aradippou. During the work, the tangent lane of the islet will be partially closed from both directions for a length of 100-200m. approximately every time and traffic will be diverted to the adjacent lane.
Also on the old Nicosia-Limassol road, during the period 06/04/2021 – 25/05/2021,between the hours of 7:00am and 4:00pm,every day outside weekends, construction work will be carried out on water pipelines, by the Department of Water Development. During the work, part of one lane of traffic, the old Nicosia–Limassol road, from the "Stavrovouni Reservoir" to the pumping station of the TAV in Kofinou, heading towards Kofinou, will be partially closed at a length of about 100 meters (total length of 1200 meters, approximately) and traffic will be carried out in the adjacent lane, using temporary traffic lights.
On the road Athienou-Avdeleros, during the period 07/04/2021 – 29/04/2021, from 07:30 in the morning until 3:00pm,every day except Saturday and Sunday, work will be carried out on a section of the road about 200m long. During the work, one lane of the road will be partially closed (100 metres at a time) and traffic will be channelled into the adjacent lane, using stop&go and/or temporary traffic lights.
