Oxygen, medicines and hospitalisation equipment are being sent by EU Member States to India, following the country's request for support through the EU Civil Protection Mechanism, the Commission announced today.
Offers of support from EU Member States through the mechanism currently include:
Ireland: 700 oxygen condensers, 1 oxygen generator 365 respirators.
Belgium: 9,000 doses of anti-viral drugs Remdesivir;
Romania: 80 oxygen condensers and 75 oxygen bottles.
Luxembourg: 58 breathing apparatus,
Portugal: 5,503 vials of Remdesivir; 20,000 liters of oxygen a week.
Sweden 120 respirators.
More support from other EU member states is expected in the coming days, including France and Germany.
