941 NEW CASES AND ONE DEATH - TUESDAY

One dead and 941 new cases of COVID-19 disease announced today by the Ministry of Health.

This is a man, aged 69, with a history of vaccination (1st dose), who ended up in the Intensive Care Unit of Nicosia General Hospital, bringing the total number of deaths to 295.

277 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, of which 68 are in serious condition.

A total of 56,768 disease detection tests have been carried out using the molecular method (PCR) and the antigen rapid test.

941 (positivity rate: 1.66%) new cases of COVID-19 disease have been identified by molecular tests (PCRs) and antigen rapid tests, bringing the total number of cases to 58,022.

The total number of deaths with covid-19 disease is 295, of which 195 are men (66%), and 100 women (34%).

The average age of the deceased from the disease is 78 years.

B. Hospitalized:

A total of 277 patients with COVID-19 disease are hospitalized in THE HOSPITALS, 68 of whom are in serious condition or in MAF conditions.

Of the 68 patients critical, 30 are intubated, seven are hospitalized in an Off-Respirator Intensive Care Unit and 31 are in an Increased Care Unit.

C. Positive events COVID-19 (PCR test and rapid antigen test):

Of the 56,768 diagnoses currently carried out, 6,815 were made using the molecular method (PCR) and 49,953 using the antigen rapid test, 941 cases of COVID-19 disease were identified, resulting as follows:

  • 188 cases from 1,672 samples taken through the process of tracing contacts of already confirmed cases.
  • 8 cases of 1,194 samples taken as part of a passenger check at Larnaca and Paphos Airports.
  • 211 cases out of 3,351 samples taken through a private initiative.
  • 21 cases from 282 samples taken from the Microbiological Laboratories of the General Hospitals.
  • 2 cases from 316 samples taken under the referral program by Personal Physicians and special teams control through Public Health Clinics.
  • 36 cases from 1,107 samples tested using the antigen rapid test in private clinical laboratories and pharmacies.
  • 475 cases from 48,846 samples tested using the antigen rapid test.

86 new incidents in the occupied territories

A total of 86 new cases of coronavirus were recorded on Tuesday in the occupied territories, resulting from 9184 diagnostic tests. The total number of cases is 5669.

In a written statement, "Health Minister" Unal Ustel says three cases have occurred from abroad, 14 are contacts of confirmed cases, and 69 cases involve domestic infections.

Of the domestic infections, 23 cases were detected in Kyrenia, 26 in Nicosia, 17 in Famagusta and 3 in Trikomou.
