WEATHER - RAIN & DUST TODAY, FALLING TEMPERATURES ON THE WAY

Barometric low affects the area. Today the weather will initially be mostly cloudy and local rains are expected, without ruling out the possibility of a storm. Later it will become partly cloudy with the possibility of isolated rains, mainly in the west and mountains.

Initially there will be dust suspended which by the afternoon will be removed. Winds will blow northeast to southeast, moderate to strong, 4 to 5 beauforts but to the west and north coasts will blow very strong, 6 beauforts. Gradually weakening winds are expected but in the late afternoon they will become south-westerly to north-westerly, moderate 4 and transient in the winds, up to strong 5 beauforts. The sea will be a little turbulent to turbulent and locally troubled. The temperature will rise to 24 degrees inland, around 22 on the coast and 17 degrees in the higher mountains.

In the evening the weather will be intermittently mostly cloudy and local rains or even isolated storms are expected. Snow is also likely to fall on the highest peaks of Troodos. Winds will blow southwest to west, strong to very strong 5 to 6 beauforts and locally to severe, 7 beauforts. The sea will be turbulent on the east coast, turbulent until undulating to the south but undulating and local until very undulating to the west and north. On Thursday the weather will initially be partly cloudy but will gradually become mostly cloudy and local rains, isolated storms as well as snow in the higher mountains are expected.

On Friday the weather will be mostly atrium but from time to time there will be increased clouds.

The temperature will drop sharply on Wednesday to range below climate averages. A slight further fall is expected for Thursday and a significant change is expected for Friday.
