Filenews 28 March 2021
With a simplified procedure for arranging appointments for vaccination against COVID-19, the Vaccination Portal for people with Diabetes Sugar and Severe Obesity opens tomorrow, March 29th. The National Vaccination Plan proceeds on the basis of vaccine planning and availability, with priority currently given to vaccination coverage for people with diseases who have an increased risk of serious disease.
As announced by the Ministry of Health, during the period from 29 March, at 8a.m., until 1 April, at 7 p.m., 19,246 priority appointments will be made available to individuals, regardless of age, with:
- Type I Diabetes And People with Type II Diabetes Who Receive Insulin,
- Diabetes and macrovascular and/or microvascular complications (Coronary Disease, Peripheral Vascular Disease, Chronic Kidney Disease, Stroke, Carotid Disease, Retinopathy), and
- Severe Obesity (people with BMI> 40, or BMI >=35 and metabolic syndrome)
In cooperation with the Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy, the Department of Information Technology Services, the Health Insurance Agency and the NCR company, the Vaccination Platform has been upgraded, while the process of entering the Vaccination Portal has been simplified to facilitate citizens who wish to schedule appointments.
As shown in the images below, from the Home page of the GHS, citizens have access directly to the Vaccination Portal by clicking on the option "Vaccination Portal".
Subsequently and to protect the data entered, citizens fill in the Username and Password they already use for their entry into their personal account in the GHS.
After entering the Gate, citizens are informed about the Vaccination Centres and the vaccine given to each of them and then, after accepting the conditions, proceed to arrange their appointment.
As in the case of the age criterion, the Vaccination Portal will confirm the individuals who meet the criteria, based on the data held in the GHS Software. This information must be recorded by their treating doctors in their medical records, and no relevant medical certificate is required.
It is recalled that in the case of patients who are not registered or beneficiaries of the GHS, they will be given priority for vaccination, on the basis of the criteria applicable to others, following a certificate from their treating physician and sending an e-mail to the e-mail address emvoliasmos . eidikes@moh. gov. cy, expressing the patient's interest in vaccination and quoting the Identification Number/Identification Document Number, the patient's contact number and the Priority Group for Diabetes Sugar, to which he belongs, or that he is a person with Severe Obesity.
