In the creation of another modern area of greenery and recreation for young and old, the Municipality of Paphos proceeds.
Today, the Mayor of the city Phaedon Phaedon signed with the contractor company D. Kouppis & Sons Construction Co Ltd the contract for the execution of the project "Improvement-Embellishment in the Municipal Park of Heroes E.O.K.A. 1955-1959 (Dasoudi)" amounting to €230,000 plus VAT The work started immediately and will be completed within the next two and a half months.
Speaking at the signing of the Contract, The Mayor of Paphos noted that this area is one of the most historic places in the city and is probably the oldest and largest park that Paphos had. It was built in 1991 and today, 30 years later, it needs renovation.
As part of the project, Explained Mr. Phaedon, a modern playground will be created, a garden with aromatic plants, 70 new trees will be planted, there will be an amphitheatre and a complete reconstruction of the parking lot, new lamps and benches will be installed, all illegal additions will be removed and the cafeteria will be renovated, there will be fences and flooring, and there is also a proposal from our fellow artist for the creation and placement next to the Monument of Heroes E.O.K.A. 1955-'59 of a new sculpture.
