Filenews 6 March 2021
Thousands of free saplings will be given by the Department of Forests to families who wish to enrich or renew their gardens, in view of the entry of Spring. The saplings will be available on Saturday, March 13, 2021.
With this action, the Department of Forests wants to remind everyone, especially children, of the multifaceted role of the tree but also of the need to protect and expand the greenery, something that in previous years was done through the established events for the Feast of the Tree. However, because these actions have not been implemented this year due to the pandemic, family tree planting will give parents and children the opportunity to share a creative activity, to groom their backyards and at the same time to take care of the environment.
The saplings that the Department of Forests will make available for this purpose will be suitable for planting in gardens or in a family selection area and are expected to receive appropriate care for their successful installation and development. The concession of the saplings will be as follows:
- Three saplings will be given to each family.
-Families who come with their children will be given an additional sapling for each child.
-For the receipt of the saplings, interested parties can send a message to 8998, selecting activity 8.
-The concession of the saplings, as mentioned above, will take place on Saturday, March 13, from 10:00 until 13:00.
