The Ministry of Health today announced 352 new cases of COVID-19 disease identified from a total of 40,891 tests (positivity rate: 0.86%).
A total of 145 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, including 25 in serious condition.
The total number of cases is 37,230.
No deaths of patients with a final cause of death on COVID-19 were recorded today, so the total number of deaths remains 233.
Detailed results:
A. Deaths from COVID-19:
No deaths of COVID-19 patients were recorded today. Therefore, the total number of deaths with the final cause of COVID-19 remains 233, of which:
- 156 men (67%), and
- 77 women (33%).
The average age of the deceased from the disease is 79 years.
B. Hospitalized:
A total of 145 patients with COVID-19 disease are hospitalized in OKYY hospitals, 25 of whom are in serious condition or in MAF conditions.
Of the 25 patients critical, 15 are intubated in an Intensive Care Unit and 10 are in an Increased Care Unit.

C. Positive events COVID-19 (PCR test and rapid antigen test):
Of the 40,891 laboratory diagnoses carried out today, 2,763 were carried out using the molecular method (PCR) and 38,128 using the antigen rapid test, 352 cases of COVID-19 disease were identified, resulting as follows:
- 100 cases from 641 samples taken through the process of tracing close contacts (primary contacts) cases.
- 5 cases from 1,016 samples taken as part of a passenger check at Larnaca and Paphos Airports.
- 16 cases from 576 samples taken through a private initiative.
- 6 cases from 310 samples taken from the Microbiological Laboratories of the General Hospitals.
- 8 cases from 272 samples tested using the antigen rapid test in private clinical laboratories.
- 217 cases from 37,856 samples tested using the antigen rapid test through the Ministry of Health programme.
In addition, the following laboratory tests were carried out, without the detection of a case:
- 1 sample taken as part of a re-examination carried out on the 7th day following the arrival of persons who have returned from the United Kingdom and are under mandatory restriction in hotels in the Republic.
- 219 samples taken as part of the referral program by Personal Physicians and special teams control through the Public Health Clinics.
