No deaths of patients with a final cause of death on COVID-19 were recorded today, so the total number of deaths remains at 232, according to a statement from the Ministry of Health. 298 identified (positivity rate: 0.66%) new cases of COVID-19 disease out of a total of 45,369 detection tests, slightly increased from yesterday.
In particular, according to the Communication:
- 126 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, 25 of whom are in serious condition.
- A total of 45,369 disease detection tests have been carried out using the molecular method (PCR) and the antigen rapid test.
- 298 (positivity rate: 0.66%) new cases of COVID-19 disease were identified by molecular tests (PCR) and antigen rapid test, bringing the total number of cases to 36,575.
Here are today's results in detail.
A. Deaths from COVID-19:
No deaths of COVID-19 patients were recorded today. Therefore, the total number of deaths with the final cause of COVID-19 remains 232, of which:
- 155 men (67%), and
- 77 women (33%).
The average age of the deceased from the disease is 79 years.
B. Hospitalized:
A total of 126 patients with COVID-19 disease are hospitalized in THE HOSPITALS, 25 of whom are in serious condition or in MAF conditions.
Of the 25 patients critical, 11 are intubated, three are hospitalized in an Off-Respirator Intensive Care Unit and 11 are in an Increased Care Unit
C. Positive events COVID-19 (PCR test and rapid antigen test):
Of the 45,369 laboratory diagnoses currently carried out, 3,262 were carried out using the molecular method (PCR) and 42,107 using the antigen rapid test, 298 cases of COVID-19 disease were identified, resulting as follows:
- 44 cases from 467 samples taken through the process of tracing close contacts (primary contacts) cases.
- 9 cases from 715 samples taken as part of a passenger check at Larnaca and Paphos Airports.
- 24 cases from 1,576 samples taken through a private initiative.
- 15 cases from 252 samples taken from the Microbiological Laboratories of the General Hospitals.
- 5 cases from 323 samples tested using the antigen rapid test in private clinical laboratories.
- 201 cases from 41,784 samples examined using the antigen rapid test through the Ministry of Health programme.
In addition, the following laboratory tests were carried out, without the detection of a case:
- 252 samples taken as part of the programme of referrals by Personal Physicians and control of special teams through the Public Health Clinics.
A total of 45,369 molecular (PCR) and antigen rapid test tests have now been carried out and 298 positive tests (positivity rate: 0.66%) have been positively detected. Samples.
The 201 positive results were identified from 41,784 samples tested using the antigen rapid test.
Of the results, the highest positivity rate was recorded in Limassol province.
