One death and 288 new cases of COVID-19 disease announced by the Department of Health on Tuesday.
One person has died of COVID-19 disease, bringing the total number of deaths to 232.
One person who died with the final cause of death attributed to COVID-19 disease, concerns a man, aged 52 years, without mentioning underlying diseases in the Medical Certificate of Causes of Death, which ended up in the Intensive Care Unit of the Nicosia General Hospital.
In addition, 79 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, 22 of whom are in serious condition.
A total of 32,933 disease detection tests have been carried out using the molecular method (PCR) and the antigen rapid test.
288 (positivity rate: 0.87%) new cases of COVID-19 disease have been identified by molecular tests (PCRs) and antigen rapid tests, bringing the total number of cases to 35,297.
The total number of deaths with the final cause of COVID-19 is 232, of which 155 are men (67%), and 77 women (33%).
A total of 79 patients with COVID-19 disease are hospitalized in OKYY hospitals, 22 of whom are in serious condition or in MAF conditions.
Of the 22 patients critical, nine are intubated, three are hospitalized in an Off-Respirator Intensive Care Unit and 10 in an Increased Care Unit.

Positive events COVID-19 (PCR test and rapid antigen test):
Of the 32,933 laboratory diagnoses currently carried out, 2,780 were carried out using the molecular method (PCR) and 30,153 using the antigen rapid test, 288 cases of COVID-19 disease were identified, resulting as follows:
- 61 cases from 515 samples taken through the process of tracing close contacts (primary contacts) of cases.
- 24 cases from 1,227 samples taken through a private initiative.
- 13 cases from 336 samples taken from the Microbiological Laboratories of the General Hospitals.
- 9 cases from 688 samples tested using the antigen rapid test in private clinical laboratories.
- 181 cases from 29,465 samples tested using the antigen rapid test through the Ministry of Health programme.
In addition, the following laboratory tests were carried out, without the detection of a case:
- 430 samples taken under passenger control at Larnaca and Paphos Airports.
- 272 samples taken under the programme of referrals by Personal Physicians and special teams control through the Public Health Clinics.

35 incidents in the occupied territories
Thirty-five cases of coronavirus were reported in the occupied territories on Tuesday out of a total of 7,435 diagnostic tests carried out in the last 24 hours by "Minister of Health" Unal Ustel.
He said three people arrived from abroad, five are contacts of a confirmed case and 27 are infections within the community.
Geographically, 23 come from Nicosia, 8 from Kyrenia and one from Famagusta.
The total number of cases in the occupied territories is 3,492 while 23 people have died from Covid-19 disease.
