No deaths were recorded in the last 24 hours due to coronavirus and cases were reduced after reaching 218.
According to the Ministry:
- No deaths of patients with a final cause of death on COVID-19 were recorded today, so the total number of deaths remains 240.
- 208 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, of which 40 are in serious condition.
- A total of 23,144 disease detection tests have been carried out using the molecular method (PCR) and the antigen rapid test.
- 218 (positivity rate: 0.94%) new cases of COVID-19 disease have been identified by molecular tests (PCRs) and antigen rapid tests, bringing the total number of cases to 39,869.
Here are today's results in detail.
A. Deaths from COVID-19:
No deaths of COVID-19 patients were recorded today. Therefore, the total number of deaths with the final cause of COVID-19 remains 240, of which:
- 159 men (66%), and
- 81 women (34%).
The average age of the deceased from the disease is 79 years.
B. Hospitalized:
A total of 208 patients with COVID-19 disease are hospitalized in THE O.C.P. hospitals, 40 of whom are in serious condition or in MAF conditions.
Of the 40 patients critical, 17 are intubated, seven are hospitalized in an Off-Respirator Intensive Care Unit and 16 are in an Increased Care Unit.

C. Positive events COVID-19 (PCR test and rapid antigen test):
Of the 23,144 laboratory diagnoses currently carried out, 245 were carried out using the molecular method (PCR) and 22,899 using the antigen rapid test, 218 cases of COVID-19 disease were identified, resulting as follows:
• 4 cases from 102 samples taken through a private initiative. • 5 cases from 143 samples taken from the Microbiological Laboratories of the General Hospitals. • 9 cases from 130 samples tested using the antigen rapid test in private clinical laboratories. • 200 cases from 22,769 samples examined using the antigen rapid test through the Ministry of Health programme.
