The Vaccination Portal is expected to open next Monday to arrange appointments for people with diabetes mellitus, who are also taking insulin for obese people.

It is noted that the Vaccination Portal was scheduled to open today for these vulnerable groups, however, technical reasons prevented its opening.

In a statement, the Press Officer of the Ministry of Health, Margarita Kyriakou, said that the system is being upgraded to allow vulnerable groups to choose the vaccine they want.

There will be 19,000 new appointments.

She noted that the Gate is expected to open on Monday, and added that 19,000 appointments will be available to these groups.

According to Mrs Kyriakou, the Vaccination Gate will open at 08:00. He added that it would remain open for two to three days.

She also said that appointments would be made available from all three vaccines (Phizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca) so that there would be an option.

End of next week reopens the Portal for the over-65s

In addition, Ms Kyriakou said that at the beginning of April a large amount of vaccines would be received from all three companies, to note that the aim at the moment is to focus on covering vulnerable groups.

"The first week of April, when we have more vaccines, we will focus on vulnerable groups, and for some weeks we will not go ahead with the opening age," she said.

In relation to vaccination for those aged 65 and over, Ms Kyriakou said it would start towards the end of next week.
