Vaccinations of vulnerable groups of thalassaemia and kidney patients begin today at Paphos General Hospital, according to the Director of Paphos Hospital Dr. Spyros Georgiou.
In a statement to the CYPE, Dr . Georgiou said that vaccinations of vulnerable groups such as the category of thalassaemia and kidney patients are starting today and therefore, as he said, a third vaccination unit will be set up.
The Director of Paphos Hospital said that now in the city's state hospital there is a vaccination unit for the first dose of vaccinations, a second vaccination unit for the second dose and the third unit will vaccinate vulnerable groups.
In addition, dr. Georgiou said the Vaccination Portal was opened today to arrange vaccination appointments for COVID-19 from 9 a.m. for people over the age of 76. According to the National Vaccination Plan for COVID-19, the priority for vaccination is currently the age group of 75-79, he said.
The vaccination process he said is conducted smoothly thanks to the proper planning that has been done.
He also announced that a mobile vaccination unit will be transferred on Saturday to the Blue Gross Clinic for both health professionals and kidney patients, since the Clinic has a Hemodialysis Unit.
Finally, he noted that so far more than 250 health professionals have been vaccinated at Paphos Hospital.
