THE BRITISH VIRUS STRAIN HAS BEEN DETECTED IN THE OCCUPIED TERRITORIES

The mutated British strain of the coronavirus was also found in the occupied territories, announced "Health Minister" Ali Pli noting that of 20 samples sent for analysis in Turkey, 16 identified the British strain.

For its part, the DESAM research centre of the "Near East University" (YDÜ) announced that as a result of the analyses carried out in its laboratory the mutant strain of the virus, SARS-CoV-2, spread from Great Britain has been detected.

According to reports in the media, as broadcast by the Press and Information Office, during the analysis of 17 samples diagnosed with Covid-19 during the period November 2020 and January-February 2021, the British mutation of the Covid-19 virus known as 'B117', which has now spread to the occupied territories, was detected in 9 out of 17 samples.

The SARS-CoV-2 mutation was first detected on January 13. On 3 February the mutation 'B117' was detected in 8 out of 10 cases positive for Covid-19.

It is noted that according to the analyses, it has been found that the increase in daily positive cases of Covid-19 disease is due to the British mutated strain of the virus, which has an increased communicability of 70%.
