The start of the application process for the granting of exceptional financial assistance (one-off amount) of €1,500 to beneficiaries from all spectrum of arts and culture as part of measures to tackle the crown pandemic, announced the Cultural Services of EPAN.
Eligible applicants for the exceptional grant are those who meet the following conditions:
- They are professionals in the field of culture and the arts in one or more of the fields of artistic activity as described in paragraph B below and:
- have completely suspended their work in accordance with the Decrees of the Minister of Health and the relevant decisions of the Council of Ministers posted on the website and their nature or manner of activity has not been differentiated, or
- have suffered a significant reduction in their incomes and there has been no substantial change in their financial situation in the last three months (October-December) of 2020;
- they are not: (a) employees of the Public Service, the Education Service, the semi-state organisations and the wider public sector, (b) have not received any allowance/sponsorship from the Ministry of Labour, Welfare and Social Insurance in the context of the extraordinary projects announced for the pandemic crisis in the last three months (October-December) of 2020, (c) they do not receive an statutory Social Insurance pension, (d) they do not receive a Minimum Guaranteed Income (EU).
- They are Cypriot or other European citizens and reside permanently in the areas controlled by the Republic of Cyprus.
B. Field of artistic activity
1. Letters and Literature (including Writers, Translators, Writers, Poets as well as translation of literary work, such as novel, novel, poetry, etc.).
2. Visuals (including the specialties of Visual and Theoretical, Historical and Critical Art, Charts, Painters, Sculptures, Graphic Artists, Illustrators, Curators of Exhibitions 3D Animators, Mapping/Visual Artists, Wire Sculpture Artist, Performance and Visual Artists, Fashion Visual Merchants, Performers/Artists, Potters, Visuals/Voters, Ceramicists, Dollmakers, Visual Artists, Contemporary Visual Jewelry Designers, Craftsmen and any other specialty is included as a new industry and defined as new practices by the Schools of Fine Arts).
3. Applied Arts (including the specialties of graphic designer, illustrator, photographer, video artist and animator).
4. Theatre (theatrical writer, theatrical translator, director, stage designer, costume designer, composer, choreographer/kinesiologist, actor, theatrician, dramatist, dramatist, puppeteer, stage manager, including supporting lighting design activity, sound designer and music curator, Theatre Technicians, tutorial, master props, assistant director, abiyez, makeup/special makeup effects, special effects constructions, sound operator, sound engineer, sound engineer, multimedia operator, runner, animatur).
5. Cinema, Television and Audiovisual Arts (including the specialties of director, screenwriter, director of photography, actor, production designer, director, costume designer, editor, graphic designer, 3D animation artist, composer, special and visual effects supervisor, video artist, sound designer, sound engineer, sound operator, sound engineer, electricians, filmmakers, opera assistants, image editing/editing, special and visual effects editor, gaffer/electrician multimedia operator, rigger, workshop assistant, grips, stage workers, painter/painter/master paint, audiovisual technicians, costume assistants, stage manufacturers, Boom Men, backstage coordinator, fly crew, Script/Continuity, special effects constructions, mackenzies, colourists, photographers, abiyez, special effects of makeup, make-up/makeup).
6. Music (including the specialties of composers, musicians, classical instrument performers, contemporary and traditional music players, contemporary, classical and traditional song singers, Live DJs, vocal teachers, music teachers, musicologists, music critics, session of musicians, classical music performers, Musical Theatre Artists, ethnomusicologists, lyric singers, music teachers, instrumentalists, sound engineers, music technologists).
7. Dance (including the specialties of dancer, choreographer, performer, dance teacher of contemporary, classical and traditional dance).
8. Traditional Culture (such as clowns and other professionals).
9. Other categories not mentioned above.
Online Platform for Applications
Applications may be submitted to the dedicated online platform available on the EPAN website.
1. Applicants who have already received the allowance in 2020
Applicants who have received the allowance in 2020 are automatically entitled to the second 2021 allowance if they apply through the online platform. It is specified that the application details will appear pre-filled when the e-mail and password used to register on the platform are registered. If there are any changes to your application details (e.g. IBAN number, telephone number, etc.) please modify them and submit the application.
2. Applicants who had applied and had not received the allowance in 2020.
Applicants who had applied for the allowance in 2020 and had not received it should reapply via the online platform. It is clarified that beneficiaries are those who comply with the terms and conditions as described in Section A of this notice. It is reported that the application details will appear pre-filled when the e-mail and password used to register on the platform are registered. If there are any changes to your application details (e.g. IBAN number, telephone number, etc.) please modify them and submit the application.
3. Applicants applying for the first time.
Applicants applying for the first time should submit it via the online platform and are kindly requested to complete all fields of the application. It is clarified that beneficiaries are those who comply with the terms and conditions as described in Section A of this notice.
The platform will remain open until February 18 at 2pm.
If the applicants have omitted or entered incorrect information in the online application for the above allowance (e.g. registration of the wrong ID number, IBAN, swift code, etc.), they may modify the details of their application via the online platform before the end of the application period. It is stressed that, after the end of the application period, any modification of the application details will not be possible.
