Childhood cancer is not invincible, says Health Minister Konstantinos Ioannou, noting on the occasion of World Day Against Childhood Cancer that Cyprus records one of the highest rates of cure in the world.
"On the occasion of today's World Day against Childhood Cancer we send our love to the Little Heroes, who with their struggle prove that childhood cancer is not invincible," says Mr. Ioannou, in a post on his Twitter account.
The high quality services offered by the Paedogological - Paedo-Hematologic Clinic of Makarios Hospital to children with cancer result in Cyprus recording one of the highest rates of cure worldwide and comparing favourably with the most developed countries, he notes.
"We thank and appreciate the contribution of both medical and paramedical staff as well as all other bodies and organizations that contribute to winning this battle," the Minister concludes in his message.
