Contracts were signed yesterday between the Municipality of Chrysochous Town and L. Papamichael Holdings Ltd for the project of upgrading and landscaping the warehouses of the Port Authority in Latsi, at a cost of about half a million euros. The project will be financed by the European Sea 2014-2020 Programme, through the Paphos Development Company, with the amount of €335,000, while work on the implementation of the project will begin next week.
The warehouses, which used to function as carob warehouses, have an important history, and are a very vital place for the Municipality of Thy town and especially for the tourist area of Latchi.
The Mayor of The City, Giotis Papachristofis, said that the implementation of the project of upgrading and landscaping the warehouses and their conversion into a "Multispace of The Sea and Culture" will contribute both to the overall upgrading and enrichment of the tourist product, as well as to attract local and foreign visitors.
Mr. Papachristofi also noted the positive development that exists with regard to the start of the implementation of other important projects in the Municipality of Chrysochous Town, concerning the regeneration of the core of The City and Precursor, for which planning permits have been secured and the offer of projects will take place within next June.
