The conditions... Siberian conditions prevailing in the UK (after the Netherlands and Germany) in recent days have "frozen" the River Thames in London for the first time in 60 years, as temperatures dropped to historic lows during the previous night.
Those found in areas of south-west London on Friday morning, such as the suburb of Teddington, saw the surface of the well-known river covered in ice in parts of it for the first time since 1963, when extreme cold conditions had prevailed in Britain.
Specifically, the temperature at Ravenworth dropped to -15.3C on Thursday night, having previously shot down the previous record low of -13.1C on Wednesday night.
