The approval by the Council of Ministers of nine revised and new incentive plans for the further development and targeted promotion of specific forms of tourism, announces the Ministry of Tourism.
In particular, according to a communication from the State Department, the plans are as follows:
Incentive Plan for the organisation of Conferences/Meetings and Incentive Trips in Cyprus
Grant Plan for Events related to the promotion of Wine Gastronomy and Local Products organized in Cyprus
Financial support plan for the organisation of international sporting events in Cyprus
Hosting program for foreign sports teams, clubs and associations for training and preparation in Cyprus
Financial support plan for the certification of recreational diving services in Cyprus, based on the requirements of CYS EN ISO 24803:2017
Incentive plan for the hosting of cruise ships in Cyprus
Incentive plan for the organisation of familiarisation trips for specific forms of tourism
Incentive plan for the creation, upgrading of infrastructure/facilities, concerning specific forms of tourism, aimed at metropolises, hotels and tourist accommodation, leisure centres and legal entities
Incentive plan for the creation, upgrading of infrastructure/facilities, concerning specific forms of tourism, addressed to municipalities and communities
It is reported that the plans were prepared by the Ministry of State, within the framework of the National Tourism Strategy 2030.
"In addition to the specific objectives served by each Project, the Ministry of State generally looks forward, through their implementation, to upgrading the tourist product and attracting greater flows of visitors to our country, outside the peak season", it notes.
It is added that by demonstrating its commitment to sustainable development, the Ministry of State innovates by including in all incentive projects a sustainability index, which promotes the involvement of the local community, the exploitation of local products, the protection of the natural and structured environment, but also the character of each region.
