This evening, the first batch of Moderna vaccines in Cyprus may be received as part of the delivery of moderna's first vaccines against Covid-19 to the countries of the European Union and the European Economic Area, which began yesterday.
As stated by a valid source of the Ministry of Health, Cyprus will probably obtain 1,200 doses of Moderna vaccines this evening.
The same source notes that in the first quarter of 2021 Cyprus will receive a total of 16,500 Moderna vaccines.
It is noted that the vaccination programme in Cyprus continues as normal.
The Moderna vaccine was approved by the European Medicines Agency for administration to people over 18 years of age. In addition to Europe, the vaccine has been approved to date in the US, Canada, Britain and Israel.
In addition, the transfer of Moderna vaccines is carried out by the world-renowned company Kuehne+Nagel, while the process will be initiated and coordinated by the company's main hub for the transport of pharmaceutical products in Europe.
