Six people have died today from COVID-19 disease, bringing the total number of deaths to 125.
A total of 632 new cases of COVID-19 disease were identified by molecular (PCR) and antigen rapid test, bringing the total number of cases to 22,651.
160 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, 46 of whom are in serious condition.
A total of 12,643 disease detection tests have been carried out using the molecular method (PCR) and the antigen rapid test.
Here are today's results in detail.
The six people who died with the final cause of death attributed to COVID-19 concern:
- A man, aged 91, with underlying diseases, who lived in nea eleousa nursing home in Agros and ended up in Limassol general hospital.
- Man, aged 80, with underlying diseases, who was being treated at Limassol General Hospital.
- Man, aged 84, with underlying diseases, who was being treated at Famagusta General Hospital.
- Man, aged 90, with underlying diseases, who was being treated at Famagusta General Hospital.
- A man, aged 79, with underlying illnesses, who was being treated at Famagusta General Hospital.
- Woman, aged 90, with underlying diseases, who was being treated at Limassol General Hospital.
Therefore, the total number of deaths with the final cause of COVID-19 is 125, of which:
- 83 men (67%), and
- 42 women (37%).
The average age of the deceased from the disease is 80 years.
B. Hospitalized:
A total of 160 patients with COVID-19 disease are hospitalized in THE OKYP hospitals, 46 of whom are in serious condition or in MAF conditions.
Of the 46 patients critical, 22 are intubated, five are hospitalized in an Off-Respirator Intensive Care Unit and 19 in an Increased Care Unit.

C. Positive events COVID -19(PCR test and rapid antigen test):
Of the 12,643 laboratory diagnoses currently carried out, 3,739 were carried out using the molecular method (PCR) and 8,904 using the antigen rapid test, 632 cases of COVID-19 disease were identified, resulting as follows:
- 152 cases from 918 samples taken through the process of tracing contacts of already confirmed cases.
- 2 cases from 474 samples taken as part of a passenger check at Larnaca and Paphos Airports.
- 111 cases from 1,914 samples taken through a private initiative.
- 41 cases from 353 samples taken from the Microbiological Laboratories of the General Hospitals.
- 326 cases from 8,904 samples tested using the antigen rapid test.
In addition, the following laboratory tests were carried out, without the detection of a case:
- 32 samples taken as part of the referral program by Personal Physicians and special teams control through the Public Health Clinics.
- 48 samples taken from the residents of Kato Pyrgos, Tylliria.
In detail, the rapid antigen detection tests were carried out today as follows:
