The time of the start of vaccinations against the crown has also arrived in Cyprus. After receiving the first batch of Pfizer vaccine, which will vaccinate people from nursing homes and health professionals, the vaccination program begins today on our island, hoping that it will mark the beginning of the end of our months-long suffering with the virus.
Early Sunday morning, the first vaccinations began from the batch of vaccines received yesterday by the Republic of Cyprus, in nursing homes in Limassol.
At 8.30 in the morning, vaccinations began in elderly people residing in the nursing home "Panagia" and will be followed at 11.00am by vaccination of residents in the nursing home "Agios Georgios". The first series of vaccinations in Limassol will be completed at 2.00 noon at the Rehabilitation Center "Lakis Drousiotis".
At the same time they started at 9 a.m., it was expected that vaccinations would begin at 9 a.m. on residents in Melathron, Nicosia.

First received the vaccine in Cyprus the doctor of the home for the elderly "Panagia" in Limassol, Dr. Anastasios Tsiftsis. In a statement, the doctor said he felt very happy and optimistic, believing that this day marks the beginning of the end against the pandemic. He expressed confidence that the vaccine is safe, as well as the hope that people will listen to the appeal of the medical community and be vaccinated to help end the pandemic an hour in advance.
"I trust in science, medicine and that's why it prompted me to get the vaccine today," he said. He added that "I want to say to all of our fellow citizens who have their doubts that the vaccine is completely safe, dozens of people have participated in clinical research, the results have been published and we all advocate that the vaccine is safe. And I hope our fellow citizens will listen to the call of the medical community to get vaccinated so that we can help end the pandemic an hour earlier."
In turn, the owner of the "Panagia" home for the elderly, Stelios Menas, expressed his joy at the start of vaccinations, expressing the hope that we will stop the crown. He expressed thanks to the tenants, staff and relatives of the residents for the cooperation, and noted that a total of 45 people would be vaccinated in the home.
