Sampling units will operate in 20 places in Cyprus on Wednesday as part of the programme to control the general population with rapid tests, according to a statement from the Ministry of Health noting that the units are increasing after the completion of the tender for the purchase of services.
Specifically, in Limassol, between 0830 and 1700 units will operate in Gregory Axentiou Square outside the Governorate, in the Sklavenitis Columbia supermarket parking lot in Germasogeia and in the Papantoniou supermarket parking lot in Ypson and between 0900 and 1700 in the underground parking lot of the Limassol Shopping Centre (formerly Orphanides) in Polemidia.
In Larnaca, units will operate between 0830 and 1700 in the parking lot of the Sklavenitis supermarket on Avenue Sp. Kyprianou and in the parking lot of the Lidl supermarket in Aradippou, between 0900 and 1700 in the parking lot Economides, next to the Public and the Community Council of Kiti and between 0900 and 1630 in the parking lot of Agios Georgios Kontos in Larnaca, opposite the cemetery.
In Nicosia, units will operate between 0830 and 1630 at the Prodromos Post Office in Strovolos, between 0830 and 1700 at the front of the eastern entrance of the State Fair in Egomi and between 0900 and 1700 at the intersection of Stavros and Joseph Avenues in front of Coffee Island, in the church of Panagia Evangelistria in Palluriotissa, in the church of Agios Dimitrios in the Acropolis, in the parking lot of the supermarket of Kolia, in Lakatamia, in the parking lot of the supermarket Ioannidis in Anthoupolis and in the church of Apostolos Andreas, on Kyrenia Avenue, in Aglantzia.
In Paphos, there will be a unit between 0830 and 1700 in the parking lot of the Papantoniou supermarket. In Famagusta there will be a unit between 0830 and 1700 at the Town Hall of Deryneia.
The programme is aimed at all citizens, especially and with priority, those employed in public service areas, distributors and frontline professionals.
Citizens will be informed of the result of their laboratory examination by text message within 24 hours, but also in writing, if they wish, by the mobile units within 30 minutes of sampling.
The Ministry of Health thanks the Local Authorities for their willingness and cooperation.
