The Ministry of Health responded positively to the request of the Municipality of Pegia to conduct a rapid test for the 2nd time in the Municipality of Pegia.

In a statement, Mayor of Pegia Marinos Lambrou said that the Ministry of Health in cooperation with the Municipality of Pegia will offer a completely free test of Antigen for the entire population of Pegia for the 2nd time.

As Mr Lambrou says tomorrow Wednesday, December 2nd, there will be a sampling workshop in the parking lot of the Square of Vrysi of Pegeiotissos. Mrs Lambrou appealed to the citizens to declare themselves massively present to stop the pandemic.

According to the Mayor of Pegias, about 400 tests had been carried out in Pegia about ten days ago without a case being detected. In recent days, however, he said, 20 positive incidents involving citizens of Pegia have emerged in mobile units operating in other areas.

In addition, Mrs Lambrou said that calm was required in the circumstances and called on all citizens to observe the measures announced by the Ministry of Health, to wear masks and to keep distances while those who identify positive should limit themselves.

In addition, according to the Ministry of Health, of the 134 samples taken in Paphos Province under the control of workers who fall under the exemptions for travel to and from the Provinces of Limassol and Paphos, a molecular PCR test detected 1 case.

Meanwhile, a statement from the Ministry of Health states that additional sampling units are continuing rapid testing in nursing homes, rehabilitation centres and other closed structures in Limassol and Paphos.

Yesterday, as part of 47 tests carried out at Nursing Homes and other structures in Paphos Province, no cases were detected.

Note the program with the method of rapid antigen detection is addressed to all citizens and in particular and with priority, those employed in public service areas, distributors and frontline professionals.
